Yardley, PA is great place to visit, if you are Bucks County PA. Good food and drink. The Delaware Valley Towpath Trail runs through it. The Yardley Inn one of my favorite local resturant. If you enjoy a cold beer, try The Vault. It use to be a bank, and yes there is a vault!

This short bridge over the canal takes you to a rebuilt home from 1799 that now functions as a restroom with water fountains and air conditioning. This is a great little scenic rest stop along the canal trail.

The landscape is characterized by gentle lakeside paths, level canal towpaths, and easy woodland trails. While the majority of routes are easy, you can find some with moderate elevation, such as the trails at Baldpate Mountain.

Are there any family-friendly or kid-friendly hikes?

Yes, the region is great for family outings. Core Creek Park is a popular choice, offering easy, paved paths around Lake Luxembourg that are perfect for strollers and little legs. Another excellent option is the Scudder Falls – Picnic area along the canal loop from Yardley, which follows a flat, scenic towpath ideal for a relaxed family walk.

Can I bring my dog on the trails?

Many parks in Bucks County are dog-friendly, but policies require that dogs be kept on a leash. Core Creek Park is a great destination as it not only has trails suitable for walking your dog but also features a dedicated, fenced dog park. Always check the specific park's regulations before you go.

Where can I find good hiking in a state park near Fairless Hills?

Tyler State Park is a highly-regarded option just a short drive away. It offers an extensive network of trails through forests and fields, including paths along Neshaminy Creek. For a different experience, Delaware Canal State Park provides a unique, historic hike along its 60-mile towpath with views of the Delaware River.

Are there any circular or loop trails available?

Absolutely. Loop trails are common in the area's parks. For a shorter walk, the Calhoun Street Bridge loop from Mill Hill offers a pleasant circuit. For a longer loop, consider the trails within Core Creek Park, which provide scenic circuits around the lake and through woodlands.

What is hiking on the Delaware Canal towpath like?

Where can I find a more natural, woodland hiking experience?

For a true nature escape, the Five Mile Woods Preserve in nearby Yardley is an excellent choice. This preserve features about two miles of trails through a mature forest, offering a more rustic and immersive hiking experience compared to the paved park paths. The Churchville Nature Center also provides lovely trails through diverse habitats.
