Coolham Advanced Landing Ground was built to assist with the D-Day landings in late 1943. Sadly in the Spring/Summer of 1944 15 men lost their lives there. Along the perimeter trees are planted in their memory and there is a lovely little bench which overlooks the landing ground - a lovely contemplative spot for lunch!
