So, I headed to Tortworth Lake in Jan, on a Monday. TOTALLY wrong time!! So, I took a wander in the woods nearby. It's really pretty, but I noted that Komoot didn't have a pathway. So, I'm adding this because it's worth an explore, especially if you plan on a walk round the lake & it's closed!

**PLEASE NOTE** Entrance to the Tortworth Lake / Estate grounds is ONLY available on the FIRST SUNDAY of each month from February to the end of October!! (I wish I'd known that before this mess of a hike. In January. On a Monday 🙈🤣). Opening times vary depending on the month, but it is only open on the first Sunday of each month. See photo here for the opening times (and a screenshot from the website). If you DO head here on a different day, the woodland nearby IS really stunning, so it is still worth a walk 🥰✨️

Just through the little woodland, there's a stile which leads to a bridge over the stream. The old mill is the other side of this bridge (depending which way you're coming). Then, there's Sodam Mill Lane to walk down, which is lovely in itself.

There are SO MANY great trails in Nibley woods. Gnarly DH tracks off the edge, and fun XC trails in and out of the trees. I thoroughly recommend getting lost in there on purpose.

Little stream here to paddle in and cool off. Bit of a drop to get down either side though.

Technically a footpath, but I doubt anyone will care. The brave will go through the shallow stream, those less so will carry their bikes over the footbridge.
