Really nice and very welcome cafe serving breakfast, lunch and snacks through the day in a garden centre / nursery surrounding. Just a short cycle from the Kennet and Avon towpath

From Whaddon Lane, the byway (at the time of writing this) is first a bit rutty, then, after the new signs, is tarmacked over, making it a nice smooth ride. At the rugby club, you can turn onto the road or turn right onto a small section of the cycleway.

When coming up from the canal, try going as fast as possible from the bottom to the top, since it's quite steep. You can also walk of course.
