can get muddy with the odd fallen tree to navigate. some fields may have livestock in them. car parking is available around the church which asks for a small donation beautiful place to explore, residents always seem polite and friendly

Narrow and enclosed by deep undergrowth, these are good MTB tracks to ride through. The surfaces can be wet and mud will accumulate, but it was ok on the day I passed through in September 2024

There are a few bunkers situated along the path. They're well preserved from outside; however, not looked after inside- full of poo bags and other rubbish. A very interesting part of the history.

Heron Lake is a refreshing oasis situated within the tiny hamlet of South Elkington near Louth. The lake is a popular spot amongst anglers, who are hoping to catch their next meal, and not so popular amongst walkers, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet on your leisurely stroll.

Canal bank on southern side is grazed by cattle between bridge and the coast. Canal bank on northern side is not enclosed so much safer for dog walkers.
