"Court Hey Hall was a mansion in England built for Robertson Gladstone (1805–1875), elder brother of William Gladstone. The hall was built c. 1836 in the west of what is now Knowsley borough in Merseyside. The architect may have been John Cunningham, the designer of Liverpool Lime Street railway station. The estate stayed in the Gladstone family until the death of one of his sons in 1919, then was purchased in the same year by J. Bibby and Sons, cattle food manufacturers. The hall was used as a sports and social centre for the Bibby employees. By 1948 the hall was beginning to deteriorate and in 1951 the company sold it and the estate to Huyton-With-Roby Council. The hall was demolished in 1956 and part of the grounds were turned into a public park called Court Hey Park; the remainder of the estate was used for housing development. Between 2001 and 2017 the park was the home of the National Wildflower Centre." Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Court_Hey_Hall

Finch Wood in Halewood has been done up. walking paths put down, plenty of benches to sit on and a play area for children. The path over to Finch Lane has not been extended yet but you can still get over to the lane through a track.

Littlewood is one of Knowsley's oldest woods, on the former coach road linking Knowsley and Croxteth Parks. It is mostly oak, with attractive spring flowers including red campion and interesting fungi and insect life. Croxteth Hall Country Park is at the heart of what was once a great country estate stretching hundreds of square miles and was the ancestral home of the Molyneux family, the Earls of Sefton. After the death of the last Earl it was given to the City of Liverpool. The estate has four main attractions - the historic Hall, Croxteth Home Farm and the Victorian Walled Garden, and a 500 acre country park.

Holy Family RC Church is situated on Hall Lane and is a building of over 100 years old. The Church was funded and built by the Stapleton-Bretherton family of Rainhill. It is dedicated to the memory of Frederick Stapleton-Bretherton, his wife the Honourable Isabella Stapleton-Bretherton and two of their children, Mary Stapleton-Bretherton (Sister of Charity) and 2nd Lieutenant Robert Charles Lucius Stapleton-Bretherton who died in the South African War. The two children are commemorated in two stained glass windows in the south transept. The Church was opened on 15th August, 1910. It was built using sandstone sourced from Mr Stapleton-Bretherton’s quarry in Rainhill. The architect was Mr Gilbertson of Liverpool and the builder was Mr Mercer of Widnes.
