Le Hérou, a beautiful and mysterious place, has particularly steep rocks and is home to a few small hiking trails. The view from Le Hérou or from the adjacent trails offers authentic landscapes of the Ourthe and its numerous wooded meanders. The entire area is classified as Natura 2000.

A top location that you can't miss. The red gnome hat is visible from every parking lot. A place to be... Gnomes from the brewery live here in perfect harmony with the villagers and their guests. Enjoy the delicious beer in a charming environment. Keep your eyes open during the tastings, maybe you'll see not one but two gnomes cross your path afterwards.

Unusual and unspoilt: the Hérou, a 1.5 km long rocky outcrop that blocks the course of the Ourthe, has been a listed monument since October 15, 1937 and offers a wild landscape. It consists of a collection of hill ridges, wooded slopes with high forest, spruce, coppice and steep rock faces. In the valley floor, the Ourthe meanders in numerous twists and turns (some of which are now hidden by vegetation). This rocky block, which was once completely devoid of vegetation, is up to 80 meters wide at its base, 1,000 meters long and 80 to 90 meters high. In the Parc naturel des Deux Ourthes you will find breathtaking views over the valleys and the winding river Ourthe, which winds deep through the landscape. At the right time of year, the foxglove blooms here, which gives the landscape an extra colorful charm with its beautiful purple hues.
