You can decide whether to buy a ticket to visit the mine or just try searching for gems on your own in the field just outside. This could be a good spot to lean your bike against and stretch your legs while looking for precious stones.

This little wilderness hut lies at the southeastern entrance to the Isokuru gorge, the deepest in Finland. It's a fine place to enjoy a snack before or after taking on the trails through the spectacular gorge.

You can search for amethysts in a field yourself. Good luck finding something.

Quite expensive at €25 per person, not absolutely essential, but still interesting. You can even search for Amethysts yourself in a field. Good luck to anyone who finds anything.

The Porolaavu on the edge of the national park and away from the main paths is great for a short rest. Laavu, fireplace and toilets are available. You can also see the Sami facilities for the winter reindeer gathering near the Laavu. The boardwalks around the Laavu were renewed in 2023. In addition, the extensive moors around the Laavu are full of delicious cloudberries.
