Unfortunately, something is completely mixed up here at Komoot: the great swimming spot or the accessible shoreline at Döllnsee on the one hand, and the remains of walls or rubble and concrete near the shore path on the other. The embankment with the remains of Carinhall actually has nothing to do with the lake. - When rating the highlights, Komoot and the users unfortunately jumble up all the photos. The result is pure nonsense. - Confusing, not helpful! With the aforementioned "remains," it is still necessary to clearly distinguish those that are located down by the shore or on the rather steep embankment, and the others on the large hill where the pompous Waldhof once stood. In this regard, too, one should not mix up the photos or insert them haphazardly!

These are more like bunker remains, not just simple walls! You can clearly see it. And of course, you certainly can't call them caves. Back then, after the war, the entire vast property, including its outbuildings, was thoroughly demolished, as far as I know, with several aerial bombs! Of course, everything around Lake Großdöllner is very beautiful, dear Suki. It's also all located in the enchanting forest. But looking at the concrete and rubble from wartime, you can hardly call it anything beautiful! It's even creepy, and that's precisely why it's so interesting.

The information board tells us what we're allowed to think about it. Of course, I would never question this or the era back then. I do find it striking that the era then and now produce quite similar figures.
