Beautifully located, not quite in the middle of the route but worth a visit, even if just for a drink.👍

Definitely worth it. Nearby is a castle with a sculpture park, an old water tower and a post mill.

Around 150 years ago, there were well over 2000 post mills in our region. One of the last post mills is in the Vehlefanz district. In the middle of meadows and fields, it is almost in the original state it was in when it was built in 1815. It was used as a grain mill until 1945 and as a grist mill until 1965, before being listed as a technical monument of old craftsmanship in 1977. From 1991 to 2007, it served as an exhibition space on the history of windmills in our region and was on display at the Oranienburg District Museum. At the beginning of 2007, a safety inspection of the Vehlefanz post mill was carried out. It was determined that the mill was no longer stable. Extensive renovation work took place until October 2010. Since 2011, the post mill has been open to visitors during the season (April - October) as an architectural monument and contemporary witness to mill history.
