Originally conceived as a burial chapel for the von Voss family, the cemetery chapel in Groß Gievitz is a neo-Gothic structure built between 1827 and 1831. It was designed by the Prussian court architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel and commissioned by August Ernst von Voss to honor his grandmother, Sophie Marie von Pannwitz (1727–1814), who served at the Prussian royal court for 69 years.

The watermill in Groß Gievitz, also known as the Gievitz Mill, was built around 1890 as a gristmill and originally had a waterwheel. The mill ceased operation in 1963 because small, private mills were no longer receiving orders.
