Along the path, you will find several hidden observation huts. From these "hides", you can observe birds such as the lapwing, the shoveler duck, or with a lot of luck, even the rare ruff, without the animals noticing you. 🔭🦆

This is what "MünsterWiki" writes: "St. Josef is a Catholic parish church in Kinderhaus. Construction history: It was built in 1449 as a single-nave church for the leprosarium of the city of Münster, established in 1326 and 1342, and is located in the Liebfrauen-Überwasser deanery. In 1672 it received a tower and was extended by the chancel. It had two altars, one dedicated to St. Elisabeth and the second to St. Gertrud. In 1953, the church was extended by the left side aisle, the two transepts, and the chancel area. The dimensions and spatial design of the old church were preserved or adopted. In 1971, the chancel area was redesigned. In 1993, the sacristy was housed in an extension. History: The parish consisted of the surrounding farming communities with Coerde and Sprakel. On March 7, 1342, a chaplain was appointed by Bishop Ludwig II of Hesse. In 1672, Bishop Christoph Bernhard von Galen designated "St. JosefWP" as the patron of the church. On November 30, 1908, it became the parish church of the Catholic parish communities of St. Marien and St. Josef. Furnishings: The tower and the keystone of the chancel are adorned with the coat of arms of Christoph Bernhard von Galen. Hanns Wienhausen designed the windows and tabernacle. Since August 2008, the church has had "Stations of the Cross windows" designed by the artist Silke Rehberg. Will Horsten designed the altar and the cross above it. The organ was built by the Klais company."

It's exciting and wonderful that it's been rebuilt like this. It allowed us to learn something new together with our child.
