The artwork Pier + Horizon from the Landart Flevoland series invites you to take a break and linger by the water. The jetty forms an extended line to the lighthouse, which now stands inland and used to stand by the water. Unfortunately, the artwork was destroyed by the winter storms and will probably not be rebuilt. Nevertheless, it is a nice place for a break.

What at first glance appears to be a normal footbridge is actually Land Art by Paul de Korte. The “PIER+HORIZON” plant is located directly on the Zwarte Meer inland lake in the Noordoostpolder. Even before the Nordoostpolder was drained, a breakwater about six kilometers long ran here. It connected the former island of Oud-Kraggenburg to the mainland. This connection is still clearly visible as a parcelling pattern. The artist Paul de Kort has processed part of it to its artistic value. With the exception of October 15th and March 1st (breeding season for the birds!) you can enter the jetty at any time.

Walk back centuries and breathe in the atmosphere of 1635, when the noble Sloet family had this stately country estate built. Time seems to stand still in the surrounding forest and gardens. Enjoy a real night's sleep at the campsite. Taste special flavors in the tea house. www.landgoedoldenhof.nl
