September 24, 2025, Güéjar Sierra

Güéjar Sierra is a picturesque Granada town at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, which preserves the charm of its narrow streets and whitewashed houses. Surrounded by mountains, viewpoints, and trails.

A must-visit place. Not only to walk around and taste its gastronomy but also to enjoy its nature.

Nice moderate walk from Güejar Sierra and back. You probably would save about 15 min and 1km if you don't get lost couple of times as i did😅. Recommend to get there early before that jest. Part of the walk is shaded and part under open sun. Pay attention on the top of Certo de Castillejo and Pico de La Lastra.

Nice round trip from the Los Lomas campsite. Unfortunately, the tour goes to the town of Embalse and from there back to the campsite on the main road, which is not nice to walk on as there is more traffic here.

After the rough landscape further up, it is very humid and almost lovely here.

At this point the actual path goes straight ahead. We first made a detour to the left and then climbed up the mountain where the terrain became more difficult.
