September 24, 2026, View of Yukon River valley

Partway up Grey Mountain Road, this break in the trees opens onto a wide southwest view over Chadburn Lake Park, which is the largest park within a Canadian city. You can see the Yukon River curve through dense forest on the left, and Chadburn Lake spread out to the right, with pale bluffs lining the valley in the distance. On a clear day, you can pick out ridge after ridge of mountains on the far side, some with snow still on the peaks.

September 24, 2026, Grey Mountain Road

Grey Mountain Road ascends from the Riverdale neighbourhood up the side of Grey Mountain, on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch'än Council. The lower stretch is gravel, but past the roughly 6-kilometre mark, the road is no longer maintained and gets rougher, with narrow sections near the top. It’s the typical approach for hikers heading to the cave or the summit, and the views over the Yukon River valley are spectacular, becoming more breathtaking as you climb.
