This parish church of St. Mary in Bischofferode is the successor to two older predecessors. It was built in 1932. The church tower dates from 1608 by one of the two predecessors. The nave, designed in the neo-Gothic style, was removed and rebuilt and redesigned by the sculptor Friedrich Press. The life-size figure of the crucified Christ dominates the room. The choir is dedicated to the mystery of the holy three days (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter). The higher boundary of the altar area is marked by the Garden of Gethsemane. The table fellowship of Jesus at the Last Supper with the twelve apostles is indicated. The organ with 21 registers was built in 1974 by the Eule company from Bautzen. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Marien_(Bischofferode)
