The church in Gödern was built in 1507. It is a rectangular building with a west tower. The church has a west portal with latticework. The tower has an octagonal dome from 1704. In the 19th century, the parish built the surrounding gallery, on which the organ was installed on the east side. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorfkirche_G%C3%B6dern

There was already a small parish church in Tegkwitz in 1254. Some remains of the Romanesque structure from this period can still be seen today, for example in window openings on the north side of the church. The church was dedicated to "Our Lady", i.e. Mary, the mother of Jesus. It became particularly famous for a miraculous image of the Virgin Mary, which made Tegkwitz a popular pilgrimage site for the entire area. As an incentive for pilgrims, the church received a papal indulgence in 1469, which the then Bishop of Naumburg confirmed in 1471. The bell tower was built after 1484 with the help of the income generated from this. The Gothic-style nave was built between 1518 and 1521. The image of the Virgin Mary, which made Tegkwitz famous, was located on the south side of the church, set into a pillar. The niche intended for it can still be seen today, while nothing is known about the whereabouts of the image. During the GDR era, the church fell into very poor condition. Since 1995, it has been continuously restored thanks to great commitment from the village.

The present village church with a simple rectangular floor plan and a sacristy extension to the east was built in 1702. On the high hipped roof stands the octagonal ridge turret and on top of it the tail dome (Wikipedia).

The manor was first mentioned in 1204 when Heinrich von Dobitschen had the town's church built. After the von Dobitschen family died out at the end of the 16th century, the property changed hands several times. From 1692 to 1945 it was owned by the Bachoff von Echt family. In 1692, the Saxon-Gotha Privy Councilor Johann Friedrich I Baron Bachoff von Echt (1643–1726) acquired it from the Schauroth heirs. In 1714, Dobitschen was united with other properties of the Bachoff von Echt family to form a family fidei commission under Johann Friedrich Bachoff von Echt. The baroque renovation or new construction of the castle took place in 1696. The estate complex is still completely preserved in its form, and you can see the transition from the baroque moated castle to its later use. The moated castle has been privately owned since 2000. Until it was sold, the property was used by, among others, an agricultural cooperative and the Schmölln music school. In a fire on April 7, 2004, an outbuilding of the cultural monument was damaged.
