Alongside the Kölbelmühle and the Steinermühle, the Kesselmühle was one of the mills in the Triebitzbachtal. Over the years, other houses were added to the site. Initially, the Kesselmühle belonged to the municipality of Eubenberg, which became part of the municipality of Arnsgrün in the Zeulenroda district on July 1, 1950. This then became part of the new municipality of Vogtländisches Oberland in 1997. This was dissolved on December 31, 2012. Arnsgrün was incorporated into Zeulenroda-Triebes and Eubenberg with the Kesselmühle was incorporated into the city of Greiz.
