Schulenbrook Boulder Garden: A Place of Peace and Discovery Tucked away between rolling hills and lush greenery lies the Schulenbrook Boulder Garden, a small oasis for children, families, and nature lovers. Here, gentle paths of gravel and grass, densely planted beds, and quiet corners invite you to linger. The name says it all: Boulders of various shapes, sizes, and colors can be found throughout the garden. They tell stories from the earth's history and invite you to marvel—whether as lifelike sculptures or as play pieces for curious hands. Children kneel down, sniff the fluffy moss, and watch tiny insects discover new worlds in the tree bark. The garden is more than just a collection of stones. Paths wind through shaded walnut trees and wildflower meadows where butterflies dance. Travelers discover labels about geology, history, and regional legends, often complemented by interactive panels that invite participation. Quiet seating areas, picking pavilions, and a small children's playground make Schulenbrook a perfect place for schools, families, and senior citizen groups alike. Visitors enjoy fresh air, quiet moments, and the joy of knowing nature is in their immediate neighborhood. Environmental awareness and care are central: Untouched areas are respected, composted waste is recycled, and local plant varieties ensure bonsai-like microecosystems. Regular guided tours provide insights into geology, botany, and sustainable garden design. In conclusion: The Schulenbrook Boulder Garden is more than just a free place to stroll. It is a small educational world full of wonder, tranquility, and lasting encounters with nature—an invitation to take time, observe, and listen to the stories of the stones.

The thatched Dutch windmill was completed in 1850. From 1969 onwards, it was used as a restaurant and later as a hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant is now closed. https://www.muehlenverein-mv.de/muehlenstandorte/mecklenburger-muehle

As early as 1230, a church in Beidendorf was mentioned in the Ratzeburg tithe register. During a storm in 1703, the church suffered major damage. And a lightning strike in the tower caused a fire, which ultimately destroyed the tower and the already damaged nave. The church was then rebuilt. It was not until 1996 that the church was extensively renovated. Today, it is actively used by the parish.

Diagonally opposite the manor house is the monastery café. But instead of the rustic, simple furnishings that would be typical of a monastery, you will find a café with a touch of spirituality. The shop in the café also sells mainly esoteric items.

The rest area is near the former Petersdorf train station. Very nicely done up. Trains no longer stop here.

Very beautiful landscape here: the entire forest is under water (at least in winter). Great pictures, wonderful peace.

On the route you can stop off at the Buddha House. Here the monastic community of the modern, interdenominational Gut Saunstorf monastery runs the monastery café, an organic café. In a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, there are homemade cakes as well as great regional ice cream, cold and hot drinks, with an outdoor terrace. It is open Thursday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (https://klostercafe-saunstorf.de/). In addition to the café, there is also a monastery shop with an unusual and creative range. Makes you want to browse!
