Malliß is one of the few places in the North German Plain that can boast a real mining history. The locomotive on display is usually a typical mine locomotive, as it was used in the 20th century for the transport of materials and mine carts.

The coal mined by the Malliß brickworks and mining company was of good quality and was soon able to secure a fairly large market. Not only was the entire firing requirement of the brickworks and the steam sawmill, also located on the Elde Canal, covered, but the coal was also transported by water up the Elde to Malchow. https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braunkohlenbergwerk_Malliß_(Unterflöz)

It's easy to miss this place because it's a little off the road and there's no paved path to get there. But definitely worth a detour.
