The Märchenpark Salzwedel is not particularly large, but very lovingly furnished and the employees were also all very nice. A visit is definitely worth it. You can rent Gokarts (for up to 4 people), among other things, with which you are allowed to drive the outer circular path of the park. There are various play equipment for children, slides, a small mini-golf course (the golf clubs can be rented for €1.50 per person) and other attractions. My two nephews had fun and we will definitely come back again.

The village church of Rohrberg is a fascinating building, known primarily for its unusual architecture and a very special bell. Since there are two places called Rohrberg, I am referring here to the more famous late Romanesque fieldstone church in the Altmark (Saxony-Anhalt), which is an important stop on the Romanesque Road.

This observation tower is hidden in the forest. On the way, I only saw a small sign. Unfortunately, it's only open on certain days of the year. There's a sign in front of the tower with this information. There's also a phone number where you can schedule an additional viewing. Besides, the Bismarck Tower looks great. The route up there is quite easy, and you don't have to accelerate much.

The Dambeck Manor House in the Altmark region was once owned by the noble von der Schulenburg family. This family played a significant role in the region's history and was influential for centuries. The manor house itself was built in the 16th century and rebuilt several times over the years. It is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof that was extensively remodeled in the 20th century. The von der Schulenburgs were not only the owners of the manor house, but also closely connected to the history of Dambeck Monastery. They contributed significantly to the development and preservation of the complex.

The village church in the Salzwedel district of Dambeck dates back to the second half of the 12th century and is one of the few well-preserved Romanesque fieldstone churches of this period. It was built as a four-part structure with a transverse rectangular west tower, nave, chancel, and apse. Particularly noteworthy is that many original structural elements—such as the round-arched windows and coupled sound openings—have survived to this day. Around 1500, the church received its still-significant interior furnishings, including a late Gothic carved reredos with a haloed Madonna and an ornately crafted baptismal angel. A small half-timbered porch was added to the chancel in the 16th century. The church now belongs to the Apenburg parish in the Salzwedel church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany. The exterior was renovated in 2011, and the interior restoration began in 2018. The Dambeck village church is considered an impressive example of medieval architecture and remains a vibrant community center.
