Cafe Reinert, we always enjoy it, and we love sitting outside. The outdoor seating by the fountain is wonderfully comfortable. The baked goods are excellent: cakes and pastries, ice cream, and drinks. We love visiting Cafe Reinert in the center of Widdern. There's always something going on here, not hectic, but lively. And, as a bonus, you can pick up any bread rolls or rolls you need for home or an excursion. Widdern's numerous hiking trails are nearby and well signposted. It's a perfect fit. Cafe Reinert is our gourmet tip for a trip to the Jagst Valley!

The Protestant Laurentius Church in Widdern was first mentioned in 1258. It was rebuilt in its current form between 1892 and 1895, with the late Gothic core remaining. The architect for this new building was Louis Stahl. Renovations took place mainly in 1582 (repair of the church tower) and 1710. Inside the church you can find a lot of colorful epitaphs from the 15th to the 18th century. There are particularly large numbers of gravestones belonging to the Lords of Gemmingen. The pulpit base is also worth seeing. High water marks can be found on the outside of the church. There is also a stone with the year 1708 on which it says: "1708 - Christian Graf Werckmeister; Iohan Albrecht Nusser Zimermann". These were probably the main people involved in the renovation in the early 18th century.

The Gemmingen office building in Widdern, right next to Gemmingen Castle, was built in 1584. It was bought by the city in 1846, which set up teachers' apartments here. Like the castle, this building also has a round stair tower. The building is now used for residential purposes and houses a broom bar on the ground floor that is open on weekends.

Over the course of the 15th century, the Lords of Gemmingen were able to acquire shares in rams. Accordingly, they built this little castle with the characteristic round stair tower in the 16th century in 1574. The building served as an inn from the 1860s before it was renovated and converted for residential purposes in the early 1990s. The Gemmingen coat of arms can still be found on the stair tower.
