This isn't a Stations of the Cross, but rather the stations of Jesus' life. I always thought there was a Stations of the Cross. But: it, too, ends at the cross, but doesn't go beyond it. Nevertheless, it's beautifully laid out in a spiral shape up the mountain...from the expulsion to Egypt to his death, with all the motifs embedded in mosaics. Above, there's also the cemetery of the monks and priests. The actual Stations of the Cross are in the valley floor at the monastery.
