June 3, 2025, Columbine (Aquilegia)

I don't know whether you'll see this enchanting bloom there in a year or two. But this stunningly wonderful bloom was worth creating a highlight for me. I'd never seen it before! My companion, Steve, pointed it out to me. I would have easily missed it. The columbine is a medicinal plant and has antiseptic, sedative, astringent, and wound-cleansing properties. The flowers are usually visible from May to July.

The bank is quietly located by a small water catchment basin. As a result, mosquitoes naturally also accumulate in summer.

Here, too, the autumn colors are particularly impressive.

From Niedererlbach we branch off into Brunnenstrasse, which then continues as a dirt road. In autumn, the warm yellow and red tones of the autumn leaves are impressive.
