"Legend of the FILZMOSER CHAPEL" In order to suppress the peasant uprising in Stoder against the Spital am Pyhrn rulers, the Protestant leaders FILZMOSER, ECKHART and MICHL were hanged in the courtyard on the linden tree east of the chapel in 1597 and the courtyards were burned down. The chapel, which was built as a memorial - it was first mentioned in 1700 as the Salvator Chapel - is intended to show the direction of those courtyards with its entrance and the two windows, which have since been almost bricked up." This inscription on the outer rear wall explains the reason for its construction and also reminds us that during the Counter-Reformation most of those who converted to the Protestant faith during the Reformation were not exactly gently "made Catholic" again. The court linden tree fell victim to a storm a few years ago. (Until then it was considered a natural monument)

You can see the Schafferteich very nicely here and the sun shines directly on the bank in the evening. If you're lucky you can also see fish up to 1 meter long. 🐟🐠

The flowers are very beautiful and the little "waterfall" from the mountain is very idyllic. It's definitely worth coming here.

A small, but very fine, quiet round! Be careful with the footbridges, they can be very slippery!
