Parish Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary! The church was built in the years 1634-1637. A Baroque style followed 1727-1728. The stone framed arch portal opens the church. The figures of Saint Sebastian and Blasius from the second quarter of the 18th century are attached to the side. Above the church entrance there is a fresco depicting the Stations of the Cross. The Visitation of Our Lady adorns the pediment. The nave received a transept-like extension. The polygonal choir is joined to the sacristy. The central axis of the building is highlighted by a large arched window. The ceiling painting is by Josef Anton Kirchebner.

The parish church of Axams is visible from a long distance on the church hill in the village center and is surrounded by the cemetery with surrounding wall, the war memorial - with curved gable and arched opening at the same time as cemetery portal in the southwest use - and 15 chapel picture sticks (Kreuzwegkapellen, partly with figures). It is structurally connected in the north by the sacristy adjoining the chancel with the Michaelskapelle (Nothelfer chapel) and the underlying Kümmerniskapelle (Wilgefortiskapelle, crypt chapel) to a monument unit

In the town center, the parish church was built between 1772 and 1775. Baumeister and Steinmetz was Franz Singer. In 1780, the dedication of the Church of St. Peter and Paul took place. She is parish church since 1786. The place of work was the church from 1932 for Pastor Otto Neururer. His murder in Buchenwald Concentration Camp is today commemorated in the church. With the beatification of the pastor, the church has been a pilgrimage church since 1996. As the municipality of Götzens is one of the Tyrolean nativity villages, the church has a baroque Nativity scene made of wax, wood and fabric. A fasting crib with figures made of paper is a special feature.

At the gateway to the impressive mountains of the Stubai Alps, just around the corner from the Kalkkögel nature region - which also includes the (twofold) Olympia ski resort Axamer Lizum - you will find fairytale forests, quiet roads and the most beautiful vantage points. For a stop in between invite in summer and winter rustic mountain inns with regional delicacies and cool refreshments. The Postkutscherhof offers a lot of culture and tradition with its legendary home evenings around 1900 - exciting time travel into the world of Tyrolean ancestors. In Axams there is also a spacious bathing and sauna area with tepidarium, steam bath and massages - the wellness center Axams is a year-round highlight for those seeking relaxation, families and sports enthusiasts. Maybe a nice destination for a road bike tour? Back to Innsbruck it is not far: about 14 kilometers to the Alpine capital.

Small but fine confectionery! My personal recommendations: Esterhazy-Schnitte and Schaum-Krügerl.
