"But perhaps the time is not yet ripe for it (...) so that one day they do not bring misfortune on each other and their peoples. And if they should do so anyway, may the good Lord in his counsel provide that at least afterwards, when the misfortune has already been done to them all, they will find their way to each other and make peace in this world once and for all." writes Otfried Preußler (he preferred to describe himself as a storyteller) in "The Flight to Egypt. Royal Bohemian Part". Although these lines originally refer to the German and Czech inhabitants of the Kingdom of Bohemia, which formerly belonged to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, their statement is actually both timeless and universal.

The theme trail starts at the buffet building and leads to theme boards that deal with honey bees, wild bees and other hymenoptera and organic farming. In addition to the freely accessible "Bee Flight for Children", there are also guided tours for children and young people led by pedagogically trained staff. On the 2 km long circular trail along the wooded lake shore, visitors can learn everything about honey bees and their relatives. The highlight is the display bee house, where you can experience the bees with all your senses and buy bee products. Nice place for a break. Possibly to have a drink or eat something in the deep shadows and a little "Streichelzoo" for the kids and young at heart.

My plan was to take a dip in the water here. Which turned out to be forbidden on this side of the pond. There is a camping site with a beach just across the pond though.

The small chapel is located on the L1190 in Pfaffenreith. If it is open, take the opportunity to visit.
