The Magic of the Moonstone It wasn't so long ago that the moonstone in Bad Kreuzen aroused fear rather than benevolence. The people of the surrounding area were convinced that it was a terrible sacrificial stone. But gradually, the moonstone fell into oblivion. One day, however, messengers came from far away to pay their respects to the stone. The girls set up their quarters on the stone slab. They sang mysterious songs all night long. With their singing, the magic of the moonstone was reawakened. Year after year, they came and breathed new life into the stone. They were always mysterious. But after a violent thunderstorm, they were never seen again. To this day, the moonstone still attracts those who can perceive its magic. Anyone who walks to the stone on full moon nights and remains completely silent can see the beautiful girls dancing around the stone and listen to their mysterious songs. Source: www.donauregion.at
