The trail follows the old Waalweg and extends to Grins. This section is part of the St. James's Way. The hike is easy and not too strenuous, with stunning views of the valley along the way. It's also ideal in the shoulder season, when the high mountains are still covered in snow.

This is the Gempelkapelle chapel in Grinz. Next to the chapel is a vending machine where you can buy a candle with change to light. From here, you can choose: the route above through the forest, the one with the view, or the one below along the panoramic road.

It's cool and soothing here: The Wasseralb is located near the Wildbad spring and a small Kneipp facility. Ideal for wading barefoot through the water and recharging your batteries.

The Zams church has a special feature: the church tower and nave are separate from each other. In 1911, most of the town of Zams, including the church, burned down. Only the church tower remained standing. After that, the church was to be built much larger and more beautiful. Construction of the nave began and this part was completed. There was no money to build the planned new and larger church tower. So it was decided not to tear down the old church tower. That is why the church tower and nave are still separate today.
