The Simonswälder Oil and Grain Mill is a cultural monument dating back to the early 18th century. Powered by an undershot waterwheel, the oil mill consists of a rapeseed mill, a grinding stone, a stirring furnace, and a pressing device. The year 1712 is carved into the massive 10-meter-long oak lever arm. Since 1999, the mill has been owned by the municipality and leased to the Simonswäldertal Customs Association. The association operates the oil mill on a voluntary basis and produces a high-quality walnut oil for sale using a process that is over 300 years old. This bench is located very close to the road at the Kandel Pass. There are two nicer benches just a few hundred meters higher up.
