🎨🖌It doesn't get more romantic than this: Welcome to Assmannshausen, a picturesque town on the Rhine🎨🖌. Here, the Rhine Valley shows its best side – a picturesque part of the cultural landscape UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley🎨🖌. Assmannshausen is a small, picturesque town on the Rhine, in the northwesternmost corner of Hesse📍. With 75 hectares of vineyards, this wine-growing community boasts the largest contiguous Pinot Noir vineyard area in Germany🇩🇪. The red wine tradition in Assmannshausen dates back to the town's founding in 1108. Assmannshäuser Rote is particularly famous because the vines grow on sun-drenched, steep slopes directly above the Rhine, whose slate-rich soil produces a particularly elegant wine. Cozy wine taverns, elegant restaurants, and romantic pergola terraces tempt you to rave about Assmannshäuser Spätburgunder🍷 - one of Germany's finest red wines🍷 - 🥰.

The Rheinsteig is incredibly beautiful. However, one must never forget that it is considerably steeper and more strenuous than in the Alps. The views are, of course, completely different. The route from St. Goarshausen to Kaub will always be etched in my memory. Loreley is beautiful, but all the other viewpoints are even more beautiful and, above all, uncrowded.
