The bailiff's house with its round tower is Dettensee's architectural gem. Somewhat hidden behind the former "Hirsch" inn and the town hall, this beautiful Renaissance building sits within the stylishly designed castle courtyard. However, it is only the remaining part of what was once a much larger complex that encompassed the entire area of the present-day castle courtyard. The bailiff's house has a footprint of approximately 19 m × 10 m and a ridge height of approximately 15 m. The connecting building to the tower is of more recent origin; originally, a defensive walkway stood at this location. Source: Dettensee Local History Page
