The descent and ascent are partly over loose stones and scree and are quite steep, making them unsuitable for people with joint problems or similar. The swimming area is great, but definitely wear water shoes, as there are sea urchins.

Genoese towers are the round towers that are spread out along the coast of Corsica and were built by the Genoese from the middle of the 16th century to protect themselves from North African Muslim pirates. They complemented a series of square towers previously built by the Pisans, but they also built this shape (e.g. Tour de Nonza).

We were here in May and the path is really overgrown, with thorns in places. Anyone who wants to take this path should wear long trousers.

The western strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo) belongs to the heather family. The flowering period is from October to December. The fruits ripen very slowly so that red fruits and flowers hang on the tree at the same time. They are reminiscent of strawberries, which is where the German name comes from. Inside, the fruits are yellow-orange and have a fleshy to floury consistency. They are edible and have a slightly sweet aroma. (Source: Flora Incognita)
