Architecturally, it is Mannerist and shows influences from Giorgio Vasari and Bernardo Buontalenti. It is considered one of the most balanced examples of minor religious architecture in the Tuscan countryside. The church is dedicated to the Madonna of Pietracupa, whose image was painted by Paolo Schiavo in the 15th century.
