The sculpture by Schattin sculptor Claus Görtz depicts a person rising like a phoenix from and above the demolished border fortifications. The sculpture is made from old barriers.

Right at the entrance is a large panel that tells you all about the nature and history of the Duvenester Moor.

A large covered seating area that's ideal for a break, but you can also seek shelter from the rain here.

The Drägerweg is a hiking trail between Lübeck and Rothenhusen that has been continuously maintained since 2007. The trail runs almost parallel to the Wakenitz, but has little contact with the river in the southern part. The trail is about 18 km long between the Moltkebrücke pier in Lübeck and Rothenhusen on Lake Ratzeburg. The waterway, used by the Wakenitz shipping company, is about 14 km long. The name refers to the former Lübeck factory owner Heinrich Dräger, whose foundation contributed organizationally and financially. Additional funding was provided from the A 20 motorway project.
