Beautiful castle ruins, even without the existing observation staircase, a wonderful view of the area. Although the gate was locked, everyone walked past it, so you could always go up to the ruins. Beware of the cave inhabited by bats. There is also a decent hole there, which is only provisionally closed off, so there is a great risk of injury. Highly recommended.

The castle forms an unmissable dominant feature of the Iron Mountains. It was built in the second half of the 13th century by Smile of Lichtenberg. It had a triangular ground plan and a tower with a diameter of 12 meters. The decision of King Ferdinand III contributed to the castle's demise. in 1648, who ordered the walls to be demolished. In the following years, the castle was a source of stone for the construction of houses. The rest of the cylindrical tower, segments of masonry, cellars, ditch and rampart have been preserved to this day. The remains of the Hussite fortifications near the castle are also visible. In the summer season, you can see the exhibition of the small castle museum. Every first weekend in February, winter camping takes place here, where visitors spend the night in tents or in the open air.

The ruins of Oheb Castle rise above the water, offering a beautiful view of the dam.The rocky peninsula with the ruins of Oheb Castle was declared a nature reserve in 1996. Over the years, the largest recreational area in the Pardubice region was created on the banks of the dam. Vacationers can use the services of a boat rental, accommodation can be found either in the auto camp or in bungalows.

About halfway through the tour at the far end of the lake you have to cross the tributary of the lake. Unfortunately, this was not possible due to the amount of water. Luckily, a large spruce tree that crossed the river about 500 m upstream helped us.
