February 15, 2025, Stone Bridge on Ribble Valley Jubilee Trail

Super quiet and peaceful path on the outskirts of Hurst Green, the area which inspired JRR Tolkien.

This spot can get really muddy in the winter. But always a pleasant sight and short section. It would be a good spot to stop for a brew or lunch on a hot summer's as sheltered from the sun.

There a few good spots along this stretch of the River Ribble to go for a swim, to stop for a brew or your lunch.

I have not tried the food there, but the beer garden was a good place to stop for a drink mid-way when I extended the Tolkien trail to start at Marles wood in the summer. And the cosy fire-place was a treat at the end of the classic Tolkien trail in the winter.
