Although it is closed, the memorials are well worth the visit. Try not to use station road it is an unadopted road. However a lovely walk from Thornton Primary School and coffee at the Junction Lodge would be worthwhile

Turn left down the lane comes out at the cottages on Cocking Lane

Take the bridge just past the chicks and peacocks turn left at the top of the stairs to go up towards Queensbury Very wet and muddy walk but very enjoyable with Erin and Hope
