May 7, 2026, View of the Forth Bridge from Downing Point

A narrow spit of land leads into the Firth of Forth. You can reach the end of the spit very well. A wooden post serves as a marker. Probably a beacon was once attached here.

After my walk from Inverkeithing along the coastal path to Dalgety Bay I had dinner at "The Compass". Although it is located at a busy street on the outskirts of Dalgety Bay and it seems to belong to a restaurant chain, I was pleasantly surprised. In June 2025 I had Balmoral Chicken (topped with Haggis) for 9,29 GBP and a Pint of Tennents for 3,95 GBP.

This is such a fabulous and surprising hike. You enter from a field into a cool forest with a burn rushing through it. Have a wander to find the beautiful and mystical bridge over the burn.

Keep an eye out for deer in this area, expecially around sunset as they're out and about and if you're quiet you'll get a lovely photo.
