1.5 km west of Schönbrunn, in an idyllic clearing in the "Kapellenschlag" forest, stands a small wayside chapel dedicated to St. Anne. The exact date of its construction is unknown. It is said that a farmer from Oberneuses built the chapel out of gratitude because his cattle were spared from the rinderpest. Its existence was first documented in 1736, when the church foundation's accounts recorded 2 guilders and 46 kreuzers from the offering box as income. There is evidence that pilgrims have been gathering at this site on July 26, St. Anne's Day, since 1840. The small, quiet forest lake is truly idyllic. A more well-kept bench would enhance the landscape experience even more!
