The Isebrücke is a beautiful starting point for a relaxed tour along the river Ise. A walk towards the Wahrenholz watermill, which is located nearby, is particularly worthwhile – from there you have one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the region's typical floodplain landscape.

The special charm of this place lies in the contrast between the historic church and the lively natural moment on the roof: When you are there, it is worth consciously directing your gaze upwards to the church tower – with a bit of luck, you can see storks on their nest or when taking off and landing. This can be observed particularly well from the eastern part of the church, where there is also the best viewing angle to the nest.

When you are out and about there, it is particularly worthwhile not only to let your gaze wander straight ahead over the landscape, but also to consciously perceive the differences in altitude between moor and geest. Especially in the Külsenmoor, the Ostheide shows itself typically: below, damp, open moorland, above it, slightly elevated, dry sandy heaths and pine forests.

In the middle of the village center of Wahrenholz, the Wahrenholzer Brunnen invites you for a short break. The lovingly designed ensemble with its babbling water, a boulder, and the wild boar sculpture is a beautiful meeting point and a popular photo motif. The benches around the fountain make it the ideal place to linger for a moment and enjoy the village atmosphere.

Take a moment to carefully observe the inscription and design of the Kotke family's gravestone. Often, names, dates, and symbols tell a silent story about a family's life, togetherness, and remembrance. A closer look reveals many small details that are easily overlooked.

The historic bee fence in Immenstuhn is an interesting testimony to early beekeeping. In the past, bee colonies were often surrounded by protective fences to preserve them from wild animals and the weather. A visit is worthwhile for anyone interested in regional history, traditional craftsmanship, and the importance of bees for our nature.

If you are out and about in Wahrenholz, a detour to the historic water mill on the Ise is particularly worthwhile. Nearby is the area where an old well or a water engineering facility (in connection with the Wahrenholz mill and castle) was also previously suspected. The whole area is historically exciting – the mill itself was first mentioned in 1425 and is today a real technical and photographic subject.

The station is rather small and unstaffed, so it's best to buy your tickets beforehand via the app or at the ticket machine. It's also practical that there are good bicycle parking spaces – ideal if you come from the surrounding area and combine (bike + train). Furthermore: it's a typical local transport stop, so don't expect long transfer times or major infrastructure – simple, quiet, and uncomplicated for boarding and alighting.
