In the 19th century, there were several millstone quarries and an iron ore mine in the area around Schloßberg. The millstones were used in grain and fruit mills and were not only employed in the numerous local mills but were also transported to other parts of Styria. The grandfather of the current managing director of the Moser winery, Hugo Kapun, still worked in this quarry. Some historical photographs are on display in the winery's shop.
