The historic town hall was originally built in the 17th century, although it was rebuilt after the city fire in 1793. It was then transformed into the late Baroque style. An interesting tower with a helmet and an openwork lantern! It is the oldest seat of local authorities in the Silesian Voivodeship. They must be proud!

Although Strumień, with a population of just 3,500, is one of the smallest towns in the Silesian Voivodeship, its dramatic history could easily have been shared by several large population centers. Everything here revolves around the elements – especially water: from the name of the former village situated right on the Vistula River to the numerous floods that have ravaged the town. Centuries ago, the Strumień market square was filled with houses with porches typical of flood-prone areas. Floods sometimes hit the town as often as three times a year. Although the rivers have changed over the years (today, only a five-kilometer canal called Strumień flows through the town center), and despite the commissioning of a gigantic reservoir in nearby Goczałkowice in 1956, flooding still occurs, as in May 2010, when the Strumień park was flooded. https://www.poznaj-slask.pl/rynek-w-strumieniu/

Cool and pretty market in Strumień. It is better to come in the early hours on weekends or evenings during the week, there are no cars then.

Town hall in Strumień – a historic town hall located in the town of Strumień, on the western facade of the market square, between 19th-century townhouses. Built in 1628, transformed in the late 18th century in the Baroque style. After the town fire in 1793, it was rebuilt thanks to the help of Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschen. Until its reconstruction in the 19th century, it had two storeys, currently it has three, and is built on a rectangular plan. pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratusz_w_Strumieniu

Stream Monument to the Victims of Hitlerism. The monument, designed by Ryszard Sroczyński from Bielsko-Biała, was erected in 1963 on the edge of the park. It is dedicated to fallen partisans and prisoners of the Auschwitz camp, prisoners who died of exhaustion and brutally murdered by the Nazis in the vicinity of Stream during the so-called the death march in 1944. The names and surnames of the victims appear on three plaques placed at the foot of the monument. http://www.polskaniezwykla.pl/web/place/36709,strumien-pomnik-ofiar-hitleryzmu-.html
