Walking along Bony Street beneath the Royal Castle towards Sanowa Street and the newly constructed bridge over the San River, on the left you'll pass a corner plot with a group of old trees. The area is fenced and inaccessible, but the trees are clearly visible. Bony Street is relatively new, so the plot in question belongs to Rybacka Street, which is invisible from here and runs beneath the Orthodox church and ends in a dead-end. More details are provided by the Central Register of Forms of Nature Conservation (excerpts below). "Data Form for a Natural Monument 1. General Data Name no name assigned Description Three small-leaved lime trees. Date of establishment 1979-06-20 Monument type Multi-object Monument subtype Group of trees Natural features data (in brief) Three small-leaved lime trees with circumferences of 371, 330, and 302 cm Text description of the location On Rybacka Street in Sanok." Works of art in the open-air museum

The official name of the open-air museum is the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok (MBL). It covers a vast area on the right bank of the San River, limited from the north by a high escarpment, on which the Biała Góra housing estate is located, and from the east by the forested area of the Słonne Mountains. A great attraction is the Galician Market Square, where various occasional events are organized, e.g. before the holidays. The open-air museum lives according to its own calendar and is eagerly visited not only by tourists but also by the residents of Sanok. On the open-air museum area, divided into geographical and cultural sectors, you can visit many wooden buildings and see their equipment. The resourcefulness of the residents of that time, who were able to live and support their families in very modest conditions, without electricity, running water, gas and so many devices that we cannot imagine life without today, is admirable. The oil sector is a separate attraction. To get a better understanding of the range of objects gathered here, it is best to use the services of a guide. WW

In times long past, the Market Square in Sanok was an oasis of greenery in this part of the city. After the change of regime, the trees were cut down, and the Market Square was paved mostly in red, hence its name, Red Square. On hot days, the center of the square is unbearably hot. You can seek refreshment under the umbrellas where ice cream is sold, or by the fountain located closer to City Hall. Even better, stop by the Franciscan Church for a moment and find not only refreshment but also peace. WW

The Polanki nature reserve was established in 1996 to protect natural forest communities of the Carpathian beech forest. A nature and educational trail with a length of approximately 2 kilometers was created within the reserve. It is located 8 km from the center of Sanok, you can get there by car or public transport. There is tourist infrastructure on the path, including a shelter with a bonfire place and 10 thematic stops. The stops present various species of trees, birds, mushrooms, monumental firs, Carpathian beech forest and rare plant species. During the hike, it is worth paying attention to the 19th-century earthworks at stop No. 2, used for primitive oil extraction. The path can be visited all year round, but it is recommended in spring due to the flowering plants.

Rafting is organized by various companies, and the starting points I know are located on both sides of the Białogórski bridge and below this bridge on the right side of the river, near the sanitary airport. I strongly advise against using this attraction during the flooding of the San, which can be easily recognized by the brown color of the water. The broken branches of trees flow in the river then, and it is easy for misfortune, which we know as inhabitants of this area. The shortest route from Sanok leads to the nearby Międzybrodzie, and further ones to, for example, Dębna, Mrzygłód, Ulucz and Temeszów. There are also canoeing trips along the upper San on the section Zwierzyń - Lesko - Zagórz, i.e. above Sanok. Here are some rafting offers: https://greenponton.pl/ https://sanlis.pl/ https://wycieczki-bieszczady.pl/splyw-pontonowy-w-bieszczadach-rzeka-san/
