July 23, 2026, Sentier du Saguenay

Sentier du Saguenay is a flat hiking trail made up of a mix of flat dirt pathways, wooden footbridges crossing small creeks, and short climbs over exposed tree roots and rocks. The trail is well-maintained and very well-marked with clear signage, so easy to follow.

This is one of two beaches along Sentier du Saguenay, both off short spur trails down to small rocky and sandy beaches. This is a nice quiet place to enjoy the Saguenay River and if you look close it is not uncommon to spot wild seals or migrating beluga whales coming up for air along this waterway.

This bridge along the Sentier du Saguenay takes hikers over the Ruisseau Jean-Dechêne. It gives nice views over the river and some small waterfalls along this section of river.

This bridge is only for pedestrian use (walkers, runners and cyclists). The entire length allows stellar views of the Rivière aux Sables as it runs north and south of you.
