In a time when much is changing, we should also focus our attention on what is meant to endure. On what forms the foundation of our coexistence: our fundamental rights and freedoms. It is the material from which – old and young – we can confidently shape our future«, said Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, I want to recall his thoughts on the “most beautiful political poem in the history of culture” in front of this war memorial / memorial to the fallen. He continued in his address: »In the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted on December 10, 1948, by the United Nations General Assembly, fundamental human rights are enshrined. Born out of the European Enlightenment, this declaration is a response to the rise of fascism and totalitarianism, to the horrors of two world wars and the Holocaust. It is the world's most important and influential document, placing human dignity at its center and enshrining the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights of every person. It is a more or less factual, perhaps even dry text. But at the same time, a passionate plea – a political “poem”. Perhaps the most beautiful political “poem” in the history of culture:« „All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.“ (Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights)«

There's a beautiful natural landscape and/or marshland to the west of the trail. It looks fantastic.

The village fountain in the center of Kemeten. The church and the Protestant prayer house are right next door. There's also a parking lot at the edge of the main square. It's a good starting point for tours in the surrounding area.

A war memorial of the nicer kind. And also beautifully positioned in the middle of a shady park with rest areas.

Nice idea. This isn't a real "summit", but the summit cross is all the more surprising. And it's not even that small. Nice view of course and a bench to rest on.
