The ground floor of the building, one of the oldest of its kind in Rhineland-Palatinate, was originally occupied by a large market hall, which was entered through two pointed arched entrances still recognizable today. Until 1927, the fire department was housed in the left part of the hall. Today, the meeting room is located here, and in the right part, opposite, the tourist information office is housed.
