In 1992, the current Monument was erected in honor of twenty-nine citizens of Ostrowiec, hanged by the Germans on September 30, 1942. The monument, designed by Beata Karaś, is located in the southern part of Ostrowiec's Market Square. It depicts a broken rope tearing up cobblestones. Plaques with the names of the victims were placed next to it.
