Just after the turnoff a trail goes left parallel to the State Park road. It leads down to the foot of Peaked Hill, then continues north along the cliffs to Blind Beach and Goat Rock Beach, with views of an arch in the ocean.

The Old Coastal Highway Trail between Scotty Beach and Gleason Beach is now a narrow secondary road along the cliffs, passed by the modernized coastal highway 1 further inland. This makes for a pleasant and quieter amble along the beaches and overlooks, starting from the mouth of Scotty Creek. A couple of guesthouses are perched along the edge overlooking the rugged coast.
