Visit Viel Audon, a small riverside village. An educational site with a participatory construction site and a small farm, the visit will delight children and amaze adults. After crossing the second bridge in Balazuc, take the small path that descends to the left of the road. You can descend this first section by bike, then lock your bikes at the bottom before heading back up to the hamlet and enjoying the surroundings.

Since Gallic times, Balazuc has served as a ford on the Ardèche. Driving near the river allows you to admire the village in all its height.

The bridge over the Ardèche on the Chemin des Gras offers a picturesque and authentic crossing point in the heart of the Ardèche landscapes. Spanning the river, this small stone bridge invites you to take a break to admire the crystal clear waters and the surrounding cliffs. Balazuc, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, stands in the background.

Dry canyoning the other way around. Just before the campsite on the Ardèche is the entrance to the river, which dries up in summer. I agree with the previous writer, this is not a safe hike in many parts, as it contains exposed areas, climbing and bouldering elements. I suspect that it is easier to go uphill along the river (like we did). Assuming you have the relevant experience, this is a fantastically beautiful and very special hike. I haven't had so much fun 'hiking' for a long time. But please be careful.
